7/7 Memorial in Hyde Park
They have recently erected a memorial in Hyde Park in memory of those who were killed in the bombings in London on July 7th 2005. It is on the edge of the park, next to Park Lane, across from the Dorchester Hotel.
I presume there is a pillar for each person that was killed. The pillars are made from concrete (edited July 25th 2009 - According to the Royal Parks website - the pillars are made from stainless steel, but look like concrete) and are inscribed with the location where the person died, as you can see in the picture below.
