Frank Lampard, Christine Bleakely
Nice sunny winter's day today. Was out driving my car. Driving down Sloane Street, noticed a nice new blue Ferrari 458 behind me. Stopped at the lights and could see in my mirror it was Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakley. And very nice the three of them looked!

Spotted this funky sculpture on Park Lane, outside the Dorchester hotel. Don't know what it's in aid of but it's pretty good!

1954 Bentley R Type Continental Fastback. Coachwork by H.J.Mulliner.

Here's a very beautiful car, currently up for grabs for £550,000 at Jack Barclay Bentley dealer, Berkeley Square, Mayfair.

I wonder if they would give you two for a million?!

Update 28/01/11. They've got a different one in the window now, £275,000. Don't know what the difference is to make it half the price of the other one.

Blair at Chilcot Inquiry

Blair at Chilcot Inquiry

Blair at Chilcot Inquiry
Friday 21/01/11. Tony Blair was appearing before the Chilcot inquiry into the invasion of Iraq, again today. Went along to join the demonstration against him.

Wasn't many people there, most had turned up for him arriving about 8am, I was there from about 1pm. As this was just a re-visit to clarify some evidence he gave earlier, it wasn't seen as such a big occasion as when he first appeared. Mind you, there was a much bigger police presence than last time, I suspect due to the recent violence at the student protests in London.

A HUGE waste of public money. When I was there, there was only about fifty demonstrators there but we were completely outnumbered by police of all sorts. There was scores of riot vans parked nearby. There was a helicopter hovering overhead when Blair left the building (a good clue actually that he was about to come out).

What on earth was the cost of all this???? To protect a muppet (being polite) against a small group of peaceful protesters? Unreal. Total and complete joke.

I did get to see Blair and shout at him which was the point of going, so really pleased about that, after standing for hours freezing this time last year when he first appeared at the inquiry.

Mind you, it was bloody freezing today and I was there for a couple of hours. Why do they always have these things when it's bloody freezing?!

Unlike the last time, Blair entered and left by the main door. This gave me my chance to spot him and let him know what I thought of him. Pretty good...been wanting to do that for a very long time...good to get it off my chest.

Snow in London Town
Onslow Gardens - South Kensington

Snow in London Town
Finally got some snow in London! A good bit too. Only snowed (properly) for an hour but it was big soft fluffy flakes and is a few inches in places.

Main roads are quite safe now, but slushy, side roads still have hard-packed snow on them.

Save The Planet Vandals
Vandalised Car

Save The Planet Vandals
A number of cars in South Kensington have been vandalised by people who believe that such vandalism will save the planet.

Someone has put stickers over the registration plates of 4X4s to show a dummy registration "CO2 KILL5".

The organisation responsible for the vandalism has their web address on the bottom of the stickers. I am not going to mention them here because I will not give them free publicity plus I have forgotten their name!

Utter bastards. Nothing better to do with their time, presumably.

Icy Hyde Park
Hyde Park Enchanted Winter Palace. Actually it's the Lido. I wonder how you say "It's bloody freezing!" in Bird?

Icy Hyde Park
Took another trip to Hyde Park. I was going to park-up there and walk along to the Winter Wonderland and take some more pictures for this blog, as the last time I went the batteries pooped on my camera.

Normally I walk to Hyde Park, it's not very far but due to the weather and the fact I was "on a mission" I decided to take the car. That said, I don't need an excuse to use the Range Rover in the snow...that's what I bought it for (skiing in Scotland and France)!

Hadn't parked there before so wasn't quite sure about the parking meter. I never use meters, I either walk or park the car in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea where I have a residents' parking permit. So I made a bit of an arse of it and only got a ticket for 25 minutes!

Then I wasn't sure what to do. Should I get another ticket? That would mean two tickets running concurrently for 25 minutes. Bit daft. Or do I let the first ticket lapse then get another? Doing that I would be 25 minutes away, or to put it another way, I could go 12.5 minutes away, allowing 12.5 minutes to get back for a second ticket.

Problems, problems. In the end up, I decided to take it as it came. I walked the short way to the water (the Serpentine). It was bloody freezing so that decided it. I would just take some pictures and get back in the car! (As I type, some prick is blasting his horn outside...THE single most annoying thing about London Town!)

Took some pics as you can see. Another excuse to post a picture of my very pretty car.

Snow in London Town!
So the snow has finally hit London Town!! Yippee! How festive!! (He said as a skier!)

A lot of the country had been getting quite heavy snow, particularly in the East and particularly in Scotland (great for the ski resorts!) but London Town was escaping it, until today. There was about an inch or two in places, even cover.

Took these pics at Hyde Park in the Triangle car park off West Carriage Drive. Partly an excuse to post pictures of my very pretty car!

Mirror Art in Kensington Gardens
They've got some mirror art installations in Kensington Gardens. Saw this one for the first time today. Pretty stunning. It's basically a ruddy great big mirror! It's reflective on both sides. It's overlooking the Long Water. Looks like the Moon has fallen to Earth!

Was a very cold day, must have been about freezing. Part of the water is frozen, you can see the birds standing on it. There was also some frost on the ground. No snow though, although other parts of the country did have some and a place in Wales got -17 degrees the night before!
